Hibiscus Tea and Ginger

 





Ginger, a flowering plant known for its medicinal and culinary uses, is classified as an herbaceous perennial and can grow up to one meter tall with the appearance of annual pseudo stems. Its rhizome or root is widely sought after as a spice in various cuisines around the world.

Making a drink with Hibiscus tea and ginger root

Materials Needed

  • 2 roots of Ginger
  • 5 teabags of Uncle Favour’s Hibiscus Tea
  • 21/2 liters of water
  • 200g of granulated sugar (optional)

Grate the ginger root after washing them well, into a bowl. Add water to cover the grated Ginger and leave to soak for about 20 minutes. Pour into a blender and blend until smooth. Pour the blended Ginger onto a muslin cloth or strainer and squeeze out the juice. Pour into a pot with 21/2 liters of water and bring to boil and add 200g of granulated sugar or honey (optional). Lower the heat leaving it to simmer, then drop in the five teabags of Hibiscus tea cover and turn off the flame.

Can be taken hot or cold.
